A rare Thomas Dimmock & Co. Staffordshire ‘Aurora’ pattern pearlware plate, circa 1840.
It has the ‘Kaolin Ware’ pottery mark, a trade name used by the Dimmock pottery, along with an impressed ‘pearlware’ mark and the name of the pattern, ‘Aurora’. It is a beautiful transfer printed plate with hand colouring in green, blue, plum red and yellow ochre.
It is in lovely condition. There is a tiny chip on the rim and mild discolouration from crazing.
